Using a hand held mirror in locations around New York - here the The Roosevelt Island Tram and the Queensboro Bridge - I invite distant buildings, structures or other nearby scenes into the main photo to create a viewing experience that requires a second look. My goal is to visually loosen up the obvious, to create images that surprise me as much as I hope they will surprise and intrigue the viewer.
This photo and others from this series received the Award of Excellence from Communication Arts and it was selected for APA LA's (American Photography Artists, Los Angeles) LA Off The Clock exhibition and catalog in 2025.
